Selected Images from "Still Myself", exhibited at Gilda's Club Chicago
The works in this series were created during and after my experience with cancer and were exhibited in a solo show at Gilda's Club Chicago. The layered images combine drawing, photography and computer manipulations that reflect the attempt to question the understanding of our physical reality and individuality. Through the process of letting go of our physical bodies we begin to question what defines each of us as an entity. By accepting my mortality I began to explore the concept of who I am, on an existential level, separate from my physical body, and how that affects the understanding of the environment in which we live.
